Langs de Oostzee kustlijn loopt de nationale N5 'Østkystruten' fietsroute langs verschillende fjordstadjes. Deze historische handelssteden liggen op regelmatige afstanden langs de hele route. De tour is daarom geschikt voor veel stops onderweg, bijvoorbeeld bij kunstmusea of in de charmante stadscentra. De fietsroute gaat onder meer door het mooie Kustland en is relatief heuvelachtig. Met een goede conditie kan de hele fietsroute in één week worden afgelegd.
