Nel XIX secolo, la "strada galleria" Fourierista venne utilizzata in progetti di edilizia residenziale sociale come il progetto di edilizia abitativa economica di Henry Robert a Londra e il Cité Napoléon di Alexandre Veugny a Parigi.
