Menzionato solo nel 1370, il castello di Frauenberg fu probabilmente costruito alla fine del XIII secolo. Fu smantellato nel 1634. Il castello ospitava due forni di una fabbrica di terracotta che operò a Frauenberg dal 1785 al 1791, poi trasferita a Vaudrevange (Wallerfangen, Saarland); questa fabbrica fu all'origine della famosa azienda ceramica Villeroy e Boch. Dal 1793, il passaggio delle truppe completò la rovina del castello per tutto il XIX secolo.
