Inaugurato il 20 giugno 2017, il monumento è in effigie del 1° reggimento di fanteria. È stato creato in occasione dei 50 anni di presenza della "Picardie" nel suo presidio di Sarrebourg. Situato in rue de Lunéville, è stato realizzato dall'artista-scultore Eric Alvarez. È rappresentato dall'insegna del reggimento circondata da motivi chiave, come un veicolo militare o soldati armati. L'obiettivo della scultura è rendere l'istituzione di Saarbrücken più visibile in città e, allo stesso tempo, creare un legame tra l'esercito e la nazione.
