Il Centre de Recherche sur l'Histoire des Familles (ex CDHF), fondato nel 1991, è una creazione originale del Conseil Général du Haut-Rhin.
È l'unico nel suo genere e mette a disposizione del pubblico un'ampia documentazione storica, tematica e genealogica. Può effettuare qualsiasi ricerca genealogica nei registri civili precedenti al 1892 e nei registri parrocchiali dell'Ancien Régime per l'attuale dipartimento dell'Haut-Rhin.
Dispone di una vasta biblioteca genealogica sulle famiglie francesi. Detiene un importante fondo archivistico riguardante l'intera Francia.
