La Reading Room del British Museum, situata al centro del Great Court del British Museum, era la principale sala di lettura della British Library. Nel 1997, questa funzione è stata trasferita nel nuovo edificio della British Library a St Pancras, Londra, ma la Reading Room rimane nella sua forma originale al British Museum.
Progettata da Sydney Smirke e aperta nel 1857, la Reading Room è stata utilizzata continuamente fino alla sua chiusura temporanea per ristrutturazione nel 1997. È stata riaperta nel 2000 e dal 2007 al 2014 è stata utilizzata per allestire mostre temporanee. Da allora è rimasta chiusa mentre il suo utilizzo futuro è in discussione.
