De parochiekerk van 1902-1904 naar ontwerp van architect Edward Careels is opgetrokken in neogotische stijl. De opstand van de kerk, namelijk een driebeukige hallenkerk met kruisribgewelven, is volgens T. Coomans een uitzondering binnen het gegeven van de neogotische kerkenbouw. Ze werd opgetrokken uit witte hardsteen van de steengroeven van Montauban (Luxemburg), een materiaal dat het oeuvre van Careels typeert. De kerk en de bijhorende pastorie naar ontwerp van dezelfde architect van 1906 vormen een harmonisch geheel gelegen aan de stadsrand op het einde van de ringweg rond Lier.
