Kapelle-op-den-Bos is een plaats en gemeente in de provincie Vlaams-Brabant in België. De gemeente telt bijna 9000 inwoners. De burgemeester is Leo Peeters (sp.a).
Enkele fabrieken zoals Eternit, Feryn en Sanpareil zijn gevestigd in de gemeente. Ze zijn hier gevestigd door de goede ligging; er is de belangrijke spoorlijn Gent-Dendermonde-Mechelen, het belangrijk Zeekanaal Brussel-Schelde en Kapelle-o/d-Bos ligt ook centraal tussen de A 12 en de E 19 en steden zoals Mechelen, Antwerpen en Brussel.
Er zijn ook 2 grote scholen voor secundair onderwijs, het Sint-Theresiacollege Kapelle-op-den-Bos (STK) van de paters Assumptionisten en het Sint-Godelieve-Instituut (SGI) van de Zusters van Onze-Lieve-Vrouw van Zeven Weeën. Dit is veel in verhouding met het aantal inwoners. Buurgemeente Meise is een grotere gemeente en heeft bijna dubbel zoveel inwoners maar heeft geen secundair onderwijs.
