Het Fernand Cocqplein is een levendig plein in Elsene. Het werd oorspronkelijk het Leopoldplein genoemd, daarna het Gemeenteplein na de verbreding, en het werd in 1920 opgedragen aan de advocaat Fernand Cocq, lange tijd schepen van Onderwijs, burgemeester van 1918 tot 1921 en vader van de schilderes Suzanne Cocq. Hij was ook parlementslid, minister van Justitie en hoogwaardigheidsbekleder van de vrijmetselarij.
