Aan de oostkant van de Grote Markt bewonder je de laatgotische trapgevel van het klooster van de Grauwe Zusters. Hier bevond zich vroeger een patriciërshuis met aanpalend een renaissancehuis dat halfweg de 17de eeuw tot herberg De Gouden Leeuw werd omgebouwd. In 1678 woonden de Grouwe Zusters reeds in Roeselare, namelijk in het huis 'Den Hert'. Ze kochten echter de herberg aan in 1683, om er 2 jaar later hun intrek in te nemen. In de nog steeds authentiek bewaarde gevel bevindt zich een Onze-Lieve-Vrouwebeeld.
