Natuurreservaat De Kevie is door haar waardevolle flora, fauna en ligging in de Jekervallei een van de belangrijkste natuurgebieden van Haspengouw. Meer dan 300 planten komen er voor, waaronder orchideeën, waterviolier en pijlkruid. Onder de diersoorten vermelden we broedvogels, meerdere vissen en amfibieën. De Kevie is een van de drie onderdelen van het Landschapspark van de Oostelijke Jeker. De beide andere omvatten vooral rietmoerassen en staan bekend onder de namen Groot Meers en Hardel.
