Het domein Park van Beervelde, dichtbij Gent, ligt in het hart van een streek die bekend is om zijn tuinbouw. De begonia- en azaleateelt voeren er de boventoon. Het meer dan 20ha grote park werd in 1873 ontworpen en aangelegd in Engelse landschapsstijl. Bedoeling van de opdrachtgevers, de Graven de Kerchove de Denterghem, was het park als uitstalraam te laten fungeren voor de toen nog prille Gentse tuinbouw.
