Het kasteel Hengebach ligt in Heimbach, een stad in de Nordeifel, boven de Rur in de Kreis Düren, Noordrijn-Westfalen.
Het hooggelegen kasteel is een ovale ringburcht uit de 12e tot 14e eeuw, gebouwd op een rug van 216 m boven NN, die vrij uit het Rurtal oprijst. De kern van het complex vormt de westelijke binnenplaats van de 12e tot 13e eeuw met de combinatie van donjon/paleis. Bij de uitbreiding in de 14e eeuw behoort het oostelijke deel van het kasteelcomplex. Dit omvat de voorhof van het kasteel, de tuin en het zwinger. Ook de woongebouwen aan de zuidkant, die ook voor defensieve doeleinden zijn ingericht, stammen uit deze bouwfase.
