Description

Die ganz in Backstein und im Renaissancestil ausgeführte und noch heute vollständig von Wassergräben umgebene Anlage geht im Wesentlichen auf die Bauperiode zwischen 1531 und 1546 zurück. Eine Umgestaltung erfolgte 1861 und 1865, wobei die schmucklosen Ziegelbauten mit einer Vielzahl neugotischer Elemente versehen wurden. Heute befindet sich in Schloss Paffendorf das Informationszentrum der RWE Power AG mit einer Ausstellung zum Rheinischen Braunkohlenrevier
