Het kasteel Münstereifel is de ruïne van een landhuis en staat hoog boven de kuuroord Bad Münstereifel in de Kreis Euskirchen op een steile helling die naar de Erft afloopt.
De hellingsburcht werd grotendeels in de 13e eeuw aangelegd onder Walram van Bergheim en in de 14e eeuw door Gottfried van Bergheim voltooid. Gottfried ontving de herenhuizen Bergheim en Münstereifel. Hij is begraven in een hooggraf in de Stiftskirche. Later benoemden ze ambtenaren als beheerders. Uit de jaren 1559/60 zijn er rekeningen over bouwwerkzaamheden aan de ramen. Deze bouwwerkzaamheden werden ondersteund door de hertogelijke architect Alessandro Pasqualini met zijn advies.
