Suhl is een kreisfreie Stadt in de Duitse deelstaat Thüringen. De stad telt 36.208 inwoners. Van 1949 tot 1990 maakte Suhl deel uit van de DDR, waar het vanaf 1952 de hoofdplaats was van het gelijknamige Bezirk Suhl. In 1989 werd er gestart met de aanleg van een trolleybuslijn die echter nooit in dienst werd genomen.
