Poboleda is een Spaanse gemeente in de Catalaanse comarca Priorato, in de provincie Tarragona.
In 1163 droeg Albert de Castellvell een deel van zijn land over aan Ramón de Vallbona, die zich daar samen met andere kluizenaars vestigde. Hoewel de exacte datum niet met zekerheid bekend is, wordt aangenomen dat deze kluizenaars rond 1167 de bergen verlieten om zich bij een gemeenschap van cisterciënzers aan te sluiten op de plaats genaamd Populeta.
