Op 10 augustus 1679, werd in Adeje een klooster gesticht onder het beschermheerschap van Onze-Lieve-Vrouw van Guadalupe en Sint-Paulus, op initiatief van D. Juan Bautista de Ponte Fonte y Pagés, eerste markies van Adeje. Het werd gesticht door acht of negen religieuzen van de Franciscaanse orde en was de negentiende in de provincie.
In 1802 waren er nog maar drie broeders en een leek over. Na de uitsluiting in 1835 werd het gebouw vanaf het begin van deze eeuw geleidelijk afgebroken en omgebouwd tot de zetel van de gemeenteraad.
