Het koor van de kerk dateert uit de 11e of 12e eeuw. Het heeft waarschijnlijk een oudere plaats van aanbidding vervangen die in de rots was uitgehouwen. Het schip en de begraafplaats zijn in 1888 aangepast (bouw van een toren met een tribune). Het altaarstuk staat op de inventaris van historische monumenten; het komt uit de abdij van Fongauffier, die tegenwoordig verdwenen is. In de 17e eeuw is dit kunstwerk gewijd aan Sint Benedictus en zijn zuster, Sint Scholastica.
