De kerk ligt merkwaardig genoeg geïsoleerd van het dorp, en dicht bij de stad Saint-Pierre-Bois. In de rechterhoek, aan de oostkant, draagt een steen van de muurketting het jaartal 1719. In dat jaar werd de oude kapel vergroot. In 1784 werd de huidige kerk op dezelfde plaats gebouwd. Het interieur van het heiligdom herinnert eraan dat het onder de bescherming staat van de heilige Jacobus de Meerdere, die in 44 na Christus werd onthoofd door Herodes Agrippa.
