Lac de la Forêt ligt aan de rand van het nationale bos van Châtellerault en is een aangename plek voor wandelaars. In de zomer is zwemmen toegestaan op het populaire strand van het meer. Er zijn ook wandelpaden en picknickvoorzieningen. Met een oppervlakte van 532 hectare biedt het bos een natuurlijk erfgoed dat ideaal is voor wandelingen en sport, met verschillende bewegwijzerde fitnessroutes in het bos (4, 6 en 12 km), een jeu de boulesbaan, speeltuinen en een arboretum met 62 verschillende soorten op een pad van 1500 meter.
