Tussen 1958 en 1992 deed Abbé Hoarau onvermoeibaar opgravingen in alle hoeken en gaten van zijn parochie, waarbij hij archeologen in de dop meenam. Hij verzamelde steentjes, scherven, botten en steentjes die hij geduldig labelde en tentoonstelde in het eerste museum dat hij in 1967 opende boven het gemeentehuis van Blasimon. Deze verzameling vormt de basis voor een originele ontdekking van de regio Entre-deux-Mers, een land van abdijen, molens, versterkte steden en wijngaarden. Het nieuwe Musée de Blasimon is gemoderniseerd, verbeterd en gehuisvest in de dorpskapel. Bezoekers worden er archeologen van nu, met spelletjes, evenementen, educatieve workshops en unieke ontdekkingen.
