Shrule Castle is een ruïne van een torenhuis nabij Shrule in County Mayo, Ierland. Het kasteel werd rond 1238 gebouwd, nabij de Black River aan de grens van County Mayo en County Galway door de familie de Burgh. Het werd in 1308 gegeven aan John de Burgh door zijn vader Richard Óg de Burgh, de 2e graaf van Ulster.
Het kasteel werd in 1570 veroverd door een sterke kracht geleid door Sir Edward Fitton, president van Connacht en vice-penningmeester van Ierland; de kracht bestond voornamelijk uit de McDonnells van Knocknacloy's gallowglass-krijgers. Mac William Uachtar, de heer van Thomond, de de Burghs van Mayo en de McDonnells van Mayo leidde een strijdmacht om het kasteel te heroveren, maar ze slaagden daar niet in. De chef van de McDonnells van Knocknacloy, Calvagh McDonnell, werd op 18 juni 1570 gedood en tijdens de strijd werd Edward Fitton van zijn paard geslingerd en ernstig verwond aan zijn gezicht.
