Het Maas-Moezel Kanaal is een nooit volledig afgewerkt kanaal dat een verbinding moest vormen tussen de Maas en de Moezel. Om de verbinding te realiseren moest een kanaaltunnel 2,5 kilometer gemaakt worden door een heuvel van graniet en leisteen op de grens tussen België en Luxemburg. Deze tunnel zou uitmonden in Hoffelt. Door de enorme kostprijs en de politieke instabiliteit na de Belgische revolutie werden de werken gestaakt bij 1130 meter.
