De veerverbinding tussen Millingen aan de Rijn en Pannerden voert u over de Rijn op slechts een kilometer afstand vanaf de kop van Pannerden, waar de Rijn zich splits in de Waal en het Pannerdensch Kanaal. Ongeveer 5 kilometer stroomopwaarts ligt het punt waar de Rijn ons land binnenstroomt bij het plaatsje Spijk (nabij Lobith).
