Boven op de Wageningse Berg ligt het oude Wageningse voetbalstadion. Oorspronkelijk maakte het terrein deel uit van het landgoed Cortenbergh, maar na het overlijden van Crommelin werd het apart verkocht van het latere landgoed Oranje Nassau’s Oord.
In 1898 werd het terrein eerst gebruikt als locatie voor het nieuwe Wageningse concours hippique. Kort daarna veranderde het sportveld in een van de eerste Nederlandse voetbalvelden en het inmiddels gebouwde stadion kreeg een hoge waardering als sportief Wagenings landmark. Hoewel FC Wageningen in 1992 failliet ging, is het stadion als Wagenings erfgoed blijven bestaan.
