The Dominican church and monastery are a neo-Gothic complex in Zwolle on the Assendorperstraat in the Assendorp district. The church is also known among the people of Zwolle as the Paterskerk or Thomaskerk. The adjacent Dominican convent houses the Dominicanen.De construction of the church, and the convent, designed by the architect Johannes Kayser, began on May 3, 1900. The foundation stone was laid on this day by Superior General Ludovicus Theissling. The dedication took place on December 12, 1901. The Dominicans had not been to Zwolle since 1580. Until 1965 it was an open monastery church, then it became the rectorate of St. Thomas Aquinas.
