Il castello della Villette fu ricostruito nella seconda metà del XVI secolo dopo i danni subiti dall'esercito di Carlo V nel 1552 e il cardinale Mazzarino vi soggiornò nel 1651 durante la Fronde. Dopo essere appartenuto al Ducato di Rethel e poi a Marguerite de Belaux, il castello divenne nel 1767 proprietà di Jean-Franis Maucomble, consigliere e segretario del re e signore di Glaire.Situato sulle rive della Mosa, questo castello di difesa rinascimentale è stato trasformato nel tempo in uno château de plaisance con giardini alla francese.Il castello di Villette e i suoi giardini sono elencati nell'inventario supplementare dei monumenti storici.
