Il Monte di San Michele è un'isola di marea situata a 366 m (400 yd) al largo della costa di Mount''s Bay in Cornovaglia. È unita a Marazion da un molo artificiale, accessibile solo a bassa marea, realizzato con blocchi di granito. L'isola presenta una combinazione di ardesia e granito.
Storicamente, il Monte di San Michele era il corrispondente cornico del Mont Saint Michel in Normandia, Francia.
Il Monte potrebbe essere il Mictis di Timeo, menzionato da Plinio il Vecchio nella sua Naturalis Historia. Il greco Pitea visitò l'isola nel IV secolo a.C.
Le esposizioni rocciose attorno al Monte di San Michele sono costituite dalla parte superiore di un'intrusione di granito in coltri di argillite devoniana metamorfosate o peliti. Il granito è a sua volta mineralizzato con un ben sviluppato sistema di vene di greisen a lamelle.
