Op de vooravond van het Verdrag van Maastricht (1991) werd in het stadhuis van het voormalige Mosae Traiectum wijn van Apostelhoeve geschonken. De toenmalige Franse president François Mitterand moet er erg gecharmeerd door geweest zijn. Jaren later zei zijn weduwe tijdens een onverwacht bezoek aan het domein dat haar man onder de indruk was van de witte wijn die hij in Maastricht had gedronken. Je zou voor minder een bezoek overwegen aan het wijngoed van Mathieu Hulst en zijn zonen Gilbert en Robin.
