In Limburg kon je al fietsen tussen de bomen, het water en de heide, en na de zomer ging er in het Nationaal Park Hoge Kempen ook een fietsroute open tussen de mijnterrils. Op de grens tussen Eisden en Lanklaar is er over het meer tussen twee terrils een pontonbrug van 380 meter gemaakt. Burolandschap maakte een ontwerp van de brug, ingenieursbureau Tractebel creëerde 28 drijvende pontonelementen van elk 13 meter. Daarover kwam een stalen brug in een elegante S-vorm.
