Kreekrugge, Brugse Steenweg, Noord-ede: indtil begyndelsen af det 17. århundrede løb Noord-Ede i retning mod Brugge fra Palingpot (Klemskerke). Ved inddæmningen i det 17. århundrede blev denne naturlige vandløb forbundet med 'Creecke' fra Bredene for dræning af 'Watering van Blankenberge'. Den strakte sig fra havet til den Blå Sluse og Plassendale og blev senere kaldt "Sluisvliet". Derefter blev navnet "Noord-Ede" brugt indtil udmundingen i Oostendes havnekanal.
