Ved anlæggelsen af en parkeringsplads ved Sint-Romboutskatedralen i 2010 blev der her opdaget en massegraf. 41 skeletter blev fundet stablet oven på hinanden. Denne massegraf stammer fra Bondekrigen i 1798.
Angrebet på Mechelen mislykkedes, og 41 bøndere blev henrettet her ved foden af Romboutstårnet.
