Rådhuset i Veurne spillede en vigtig rolle i begyndelsen af Første Verdenskrig. Kong Albert I havde sit arbejdsrum i overetagen. Her blev planerne for oversvømmelsen af Ijzerlanden drøftet med Karel Cogge. Også Generalstaben for den belgiske hær havde her i flere måneder sit hovedkvarter. I Albert-salen i Rådhuset vil du i anledning af 100 år for den Store Krig kunne se et docudrama om historien om den Store Krig i Veurne.
