Houthalen-Oost er en havebydel af Houthalen i den belgiske kommune Houthalen-Helchteren, som dog ikke er fastbygget til Houthalen bymidte, men snarere er forbundet med den genkske bydel Zwartberg. Indtil 1960 kunne man endda ikke nå Houthalen bymidte direkte fra Houthalen-Oost.
Houthalen-Oost ligger på vestsiden omgivet af naturområderne Kelchterhoef og Tenhaagdoornheide og mod syd af natur- og rekreative områderne Hengelhoef. På nordsiden findes skydepladsen i Donderslagse Heide. Der ligger også Domæne Masy.
