Früher war der Sint-Goriksplatz von den Armen der Zenne umgeben und bildete so die Sint-Gorikinsel, auch Großinsel genannt. Die überdachten Sint-Gorikshallen stammen aus dem Jahr 1874 und bis in die 70er Jahre fand dort ein sehr beliebter Markt statt.
Gehe links durch das Tor des Restaurants Ô Lion d'Or, eine Poststation aus dem 17.ten Jahrhundert. Auf dem Innenhof entdeckst du eine Rekonstruktion des früheren Zennearms, der beide Inseln voneinander trennte (der Fluss fließt dort jetzt nicht mehr!).
Achtung: Derzeit gibt es keinen Zugang für die Öffentlichkeit aufgrund der sanitären Situation.
