Willkommen in De Roma! Dieser beeindruckende Saal an der Turnhoutsebaan wurde 1928 als größtes Kino Antwerpen eröffnet. Neben Filmstars traten hier auch Musikikonen wie Lou Reed, Paul McCartney und Iron Maiden auf. Nach der Schließung im Jahr 1982 drohte der Verfall, bis Freiwillige das Gebäude ab 2002 eigenhändig restaurierten. Heute sorgen sie immer noch für die warme Atmosphäre, von der Bar bis zur Backstage. De Roma ist kein gewöhnlicher Konzertsaal, sondern das pulsierende Herz von Borgerhout, an der ebenso lebhaften Turnhoutsebaan. Wusstest du: De Roma ist nicht nach der Hauptstadt Italiens benannt, sondern nach den ersten Buchstaben seines Bauherrn Jean-Baptiste Romeo und seiner Frau Ludvina Malev. Romantisch, oder?
