Eine Fälschung des Selbstporträts von Dürer ist im Germanischen Nationalmuseum in Nürnberg zu sehen.
Das Gemälde wurde 1799 von der Stadt Nürnberg an einen Maler namens Abraham Kuffner verliehen, um eine Kopie anzufertigen. Kuffner kopierte es, schickte aber die Kopie zurück und behielt das Original, das sich jetzt in der Pinakothek in München befindet.
