Der Haagse Wald ist ein Wald von etwa 100 ha und ist Teil des großen Urwalds, der früher von ''s-Gravenzande bis weit über Alkmaar verlief. Der Wald liegt auf einer alten Strandrand und endet dort, wo das Moor beginnt.
Über die älteste Geschichte ist nichts mehr bekannt als dass der Wald immer schon da war und ein Anlass für die Grafen von Holland war, im 13. Jahrhundert ein Jagdschloss zu bauen: das spätere Binnenhof.
Der Wald sollte im Laufe der Jahrhunderte bis heute als Treffpunkt für fleischliche Kontakte genutzt werden, ohne dabei einen Unterschied zwischen "natürlichen und sodomistischen" zu machen.
