Den Ham ist ein Brinkdorf in der Gemeinde Twenterand, in der Provinz Overijssel, etwa 8 Kilometer südöstlich von Ommen und 18 Kilometer nordwestlich von Almelo, und zählt 5.830 Einwohner. Das Dorf selbst gehört zur Region Twente, sowohl sprachlich als auch rechtsgeschichtlich. Den Ham ist ein häufig genutzter Ausgangspunkt, um dieses Naturschutzgebiet zu erkunden. Nirgendwo sonst in den Niederlanden ist die ursprüngliche Kulissenlandschaft aus Äckern, Wiesen, Hecken, Wäldern und Heide so gut erhalten geblieben. Zwischen Den Ham und Ommen liegt das Naturschutzgebiet "Eerder Achterbroek". In diesem Naturschutzgebiet befindet sich auch das "Landgoed Eerde" mit dem Schloss Eerde.
