First base: Villa Eugenio in Balestrate:
- Monreale with its mighty cathedral and cloister tour
- The Greco-Roman ruins of Solunto, Termini Imerese with its cathedral (see cityguide) and the castle and the many religious buildings of Caccamo (city guide)
- To the medieval eagle's nest of Erice and the salt pans of the Via del Sale from Trapani to Marsala
- historic center of Alcamo and the Greek Temple and Theater of Segesta on the way to the second base.
Second base: La casa sul lago, gracefully situated on the lake :
- Sambuca Di Sicilia: voted one of the most beautiful villages in Italy
- The Temple Valley of Agrigento
- Monte Kronio, Castello Incantato and a city visit to Sciacca
- The UNESCO World Heritage site of Palermo with a northern and a southern loop or by bicycle.
