De Cocksdorp es la aldea más joven y más al norte de Texel. La aldea se fundó en 1835 y lleva el nombre de Nicolas Joseph de Cock, quien tomó la iniciativa para la construcción de diques y la creación de tierras de cultivo en el Buitenveld, el área pantanosa entre la antigua tierra de Texel y la isla Eijerland.
La Waddenkerk en De Cocksdorp (monumento nacional) es una pequeña iglesia de salón neoclásica que data de 1841. Sobre la entrada se encuentra un pequeño campanario. La fachada principal de la Waddenkerk en De Cocksdorp tiene pilastras jónicas y lesenas en bloque.
