Point d'expérience de la tourbe Mikvaart
À l'intersection du Kraaienberg avec la Kievitstraat se trouve un très beau coin de repos.
Il est aménagé selon le thème de "TURF". Vous y trouverez de magnifiques sculptures en bois d'un torfeur, d'un porteur de tourbe et d'un bateau de tourbe. Dans le poteau en fer Veenpaal, vous trouverez en plus d'un magnifique poème de Geert De Coockere un panneau d'information sur la façon dont la tourbe était transportée.
Ce projet a été réalisé grâce à la collaboration de la Région Paysagère des Voorkempen, de la commune d'Essen et de l'office du tourisme De Tasberg.
Pour les cyclistes et les piétons, c'est devenu un agréable coin de repos avec des bancs pour profiter de tout cela.
