Si accede a questa cappella attraverso l'imponente "Goldene Tor" (Porta d'Oro), un elaborato cancello in ferro battuto che dal 1974 separa la cappella dal resto della cattedrale.
In origine questa porta fungeva da estremità occidentale del coro ed è decorata con simboli che personificano la Chiesa e il Papato, nonché con insegne arcivescovili ed elettorali.
