La regione di Buje si estende dal fiume Mirna al fiume Dragonja, che segna anche il confine con la Repubblica di Slovenia. Questa è un'area con colline ondulate coperte di vigneti, uliveti e campi spruzzati di querce, cerro e boschi di pino e praterie mediterranee con timo selvatico, abeti e una fascia carsica ricca di fenomeni geologici interessanti. Oggi, l'intera regione di Buje è la parte vitivinicola più famosa dell'Istria con numerose cantine e fattorie (agriturismo). Ci sono splendidi borghi medievali nei dintorni; i più famosi sono Gronjan, Momjan e Završje.
