Außer dem Torhaus ("Hunnenporte") und einem Teil des Südflügels wurden die Gebäude bis 1902 abgebrochen. Die Säulen des zweigeschossigen Westflügels des Kreuzgangs, 1864 im Diözesanmuseum in Münster eingebaut, kehrten nach dessen Abbruch 1966 zurück. Mit der Wiederherstellung wurde vor 2004 begonnen. Mit dem Aufbau zweier Spieker beim Torhaus und der Wiederherstellung der Klostermühle versuchte der Heimatverein den Charakter des alten Klosterdorfs lebendig zu erhalten.
