Het scheepswrak van Olympia zonk in februari 1980. De kapitein zocht een plek nabij de kust waar ze beschutting konden vinden tegen de harde noordenwind. Maar ze waren hulpeloos en de ruwe zee wierp hen in de baai van Liverio, vlakbij het strand van Kalotaritissa. Gelukkig werd de hele bemanning gered. Het scheepswrak komt voor in veel scènes van de film "The Big Blue" van Luc Besson. Het is ook een populaire duikplek op het eiland.
