Friedersdorf was an independent municipality in Brandenburg until 2003, located southeast of Berlin in the Dahme-Spreewald district. Since that time, it has been a district of the municipality of Heidesee.
Friedersdorf lies about 25 km southeast of the city limits of Berlin, approximately 15 km east of Königs Wusterhausen, and 60 km west of Frankfurt. Friedersdorf is directly west of the border between the Dahme-Spreewald and Oder-Spree districts. Nearby, there are several nature reserves such as the Skabyer Torfgraben, the Storkower Canal, and the Swatzke and Skaby mountains. East and south of Friedersdorf extends the Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park.
