A Livade è stato conferito il titolo di “ centro mondiale del tartufo”.
La valle del fiume Quieto in Istria, in particolare Livade, è la patria del famoso tartufo istriano. Questo piccolo paese dell'entroterra della penisola continua ad attirare sempre più persone, soprattutto da quando il signor Giancarlo Zigante ha trovato il tartufo più grande conosciuto al mondo, che pesava 1.310 kg , ed è entrato nel Guinness dei primati come l'esemplare più grande mai esistito. Questo straordinario evento ebbe luogo nel novembre 1999 e valse a Livade il titolo di Centro mondiale del tartufo.
Il ritrovatore ora ha il suo ristorante, Zigante, e un negozio associato, noto soprattutto per le sue preparazioni e prodotti al tartufo.
Livade è anche il punto finale della tappa più bella Parenzana Grisignana - Livade lungo la vecchia linea ferroviaria Parenzana , oggi una pista ciclabile ed pedonale molto conosciuta.
