Die Ruine des Torhauses der Ludgerusburg mit Festungsbauwerken stammt aus der 2. Hälfte des 17. Jahrhunderts. Die Ludgerusburg ist unter dem Fürstbischof Christoph Bernhard von Galen errichtet, aber nie vollendet und nach dem Tod des Bischofs abgerissen worden. Die Torhausruine hat seitlich korbbogig geschlossene Nischen und teilweise Schießscharten. Die historische Anlage bildet einen Zugang zum Coesfelder Stadtpark. Sie ist aus dem Park in Richtung Kulturallee Osterwicker Straße oder vom Gehweg der Kulturallee aus zugänglich.
